Are partial scholarships available?
Yes, partial scholarships are available if a youth would not be able to attend camp without it. You must indicate in the application that a partial scholarship is needed and the amount needed. Please do not request more than you need.
What kinds of camps are covered by this scholarship?
Any camps that strengthen a skill, offer an opportunity for personal growth, and allow a youth to explore new experiences and gain new perspectives will be considered.
Do camps have to be in a specific geographic region? Higher priority will be given to those located in Northern California.
Will transportation be provided if needed? If the camp is within 30 miles of El Dorado/Sacramento County Line, we will work to assist with transportation.
Can this scholarship apply to summer school classes? Definitely, as long it strengthens a skill, offers an opportunity for personal growth, and allows a youth to explore new experiences and gain new perspectives.
When will scholarships be announced and how will I find out if I received one?
Scholarships recipients will be notified by phone by 8pm on Monday, May 23. Others will be notified by mail by Friday, May 27.
Is there a cap on the amount of funding that will be awarded for a scholarship?
There is not necessarily a cap but there is limited funding. We will be working to award as many applicants as possible with the funds available.
Do camps have to fall within a certain time period? Camps must take place between June 1 - September 1, 2016 to be eligible.
Are paper applications due on May 16?
Yes, you may turn in your paper application where you picked it up in the provided envelope or you may mail it to:
