Education Program: Middle School Updates

November 1, 2019

The Hands4Hope Middle School Clubs are all off to a great start, with most of the clubs at full capacity! Even though each club works independently to determine the area of need they want to learn more about and support, we have a clear theme for the first semester. Four out of six of our middle school clubs have selected to learn more about local no-kill animal rescues!

The Marina and Camerado Middle School Clubs are both working hard! Camerado is a full club and Marina has some space available.  Both clubs welcomed speakers from Foothill Dog Rescue, and are working to develop projects to support their rescue efforts.

The Herbert Green Middle School Club is in full swing and still has some space available.  They will hear a presentation from the Animal Outreach of the Mother Lode at the beginning of November, and then develop a project to benefit their animal rescue efforts.

The Rolling Hills Middle School Club is off to a great start, and is running at full capacity. They will welcome a speaker from Sierra Wildlife Rescue the first week of November.

The Sutter Middle School Club is running at full capacity and already in the Action phase of our Service Learning Model! They are in the project development process and will be making Hot Cocoa Mug Gift Packages for the CASA ( Court Appointed Special Advocate) foster youth holiday party.

Finally, our newest on-campus club at Markham Middle School is off to a great start with 18 participants, and they still have room for a few more! They are excited to welcome a speaker from The Center for Violence Free Relationships in November to learn their current needs and take action with their first project!
