Family Volunteer Spotlight - The Dailey Family

Family Spotlight - Dailey Family

1. How long have you each been participating with Hands4Hope?

Madeline has been volunteering the longest, five years!! Gabby has been volunteering for a year and a half. Michael (little brother) and Tammy (mom) just got started last summer.

2. Why did you join Hands4Hope?

I think it is very important, especially in today's world, to show our children the importance of service and helping others without expecting something in return. Giving with an open heart.

3. What outreaches do you usually volunteer with? Which do you enjoy the most?

We have volunteered with the Homeless Outreach, the Toiletries Scavenger Hunt and the Green Valley Community Church Common Ground. My personal favorite is the Homeless Outreach, being able to connect with the homeless and bring a smile to someone's face is beyond words.

4. What is your impression/experience with Hands4Hope youth?

I think it is a great organization that encourages our youth to grow and become our leaders of tomorrow.

5. Overall, what has your experience been like since joining?

It has been a very positive experience volunteering with Hands4Hope.

6. Which school do your kids attend and which grade are they in?

Madeline is a sophomore at ORHS, Gabby is in the seventh grade at RHMS, and Michael is in the fourth grade at Silva Valley.

7. How has Hands4Hope helped each of your kids in school, with friends and family, and in life?

Hands4Hope has helped my children to know that there are many people that are less fortunate, in and outside of our community. And that each person deserves the best of us, every time.

8. Is there anything else that you would like to add about your experiences with Hands4Hope?

I have enjoyed becoming an adult lead this year. I love working with the youth and look forward to many more opportunities to serve our great community.

I like to see how thankful the clients are, whether it's the homeless at Loaves and Fishes in Sacramento or the Sierra Wildlife Rescue in Shingle Springs. I love that I am able to help others in need.

3. Please share your favorite memory/experience, so far, with Hands4Hope.

My favorite so far is last fall when there were three generations of my family volunteering at the same time, me, my siblings, my mom and my nana. It was a great opportunity for us to serve together as a family.
