We are excited to invite both youth participants and adult volunteers to apply for the Hands4Hope Winter Boutique Committee!
This after-school service-learning committee supports low-income families in our community by providing donated clothing from our Warm and Fuzzy Drive, along with cozy blankets made during our Blanket Making event. Families in need get to “shop” for these items at no cost at our 16th Annual Winter Boutique pop-up shops. Winter Boutique is a wonderful way to spread kindness during the holiday season.
Committee leaders and participants help plan and organize the Winter Boutique pop up events from start to finish. Responsibilities include developing a theme, marketing, decorating, set-up, break-down, and hosting the event. The boutique will take place during the first two weeks of December, with planning meetings scheduled beforehand.
Who can apply: Youth in grades 6-12
Leadership opportunities: Youth in grades 8-12
Meeting info: Meetings take place every other week starting September 24 at the El Dorado Hills Youth Center, with sorting events in October & November at the Placerville Youth Center. In December, meetings, sorting, and the Winter Boutique distribution itself will be located at Faith Episcopal Church (Cameron Park near Highway 50).
Timeline: September 24 through mid-December
Commitment: Attend committee meetings, community outreach events in October & November, and at least one Winter Boutique distribution day on December 4, 5, 6, 12 & 13.
Adult volunteers are needed too! Adults can serve as committee mentors and event leads.
Applications are due by Friday, September 5.
We invite you to get involved, build leadership skills, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.
