2026 School Supply Committee Helps Hundreds of Students
For the 13th year in a row, the Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference School Supply Committee led a summer project to help local students start the year prepared for school by providing backpacks and vital supplies. In 2024, 29 percent of children were living in poverty in Placerville and Diamond Springs, so they knew the need was urgent. This youth-led after-school committee oversees the planning and implementation of the annual Empty Bowls Dinner in Placerville, a soup dinner featuring live music and vendors that raises funds to fight hunger in our community and beyond. Apply Now for 2026 Winter Boutique Committee
If you've ever wanted to be part of Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference's Winter Boutique Committee, now is the time! Youth (grades 6-12) and adult volunteers are invited to help bring warmth and kindness to local families this holiday season. Committee participants will plan and host Hands4Hope’s 17th Annual Winter Boutique, where families in need can “shop” for donated clothing and cozy blankets at no cost. Leadership opportunities are available for youth in grades 8-12.
