Supporting Those In Need During Covid-19 Pandemic

Due to the COVID-19, most community engagement events (aka outreaches) are on hold throughout May.

For quickest and safest delivery, please order these items online and have them shipped directly to the nonprofit (see links to nonprofits below).

1) Donate blood 

 

2) Make homemade masks to donate

  • Contact us if you would like to receive volunteer credit for making masks to donate.

 

3) Make cards to be sent to seniors

  • Contact us if you would like to make homemade cards to be sent to seniors who are isolated at this time.  You can receive volunteer credit for your time.

 

4) Support small businesses that are now open!

5) Donate food, toiletries and other essentials for low income seniors, families in need and homeless people in our community!

  • Green Valley Community Church (families in need and homeless) - Make cards for low income seniors and/or sign up online at H4H to serve at GVCC’s curbside food distribution.

  • White Rock Village (low income families) - donate hand sanitizer or wipes. 

  • Mercy Creekview Senior Center (low income seniors) - sign up at H4H online to donate food, prep meals, or to deliver meals to the seniors.  

  • Sacramento Loaves and Fishes (homeless in Sacramento County) - WATER BOTTLES are in GREAT NEED!!  Go to http://sacloaves.org/needs-list  for a complete list

  • Upper Room Dining Hall (homeless in El Dorado County) - bottled water, fruit cups, cereal bars, canned/pouched tuna, crackers, cheese sticks, jerky sticks, chips, yogurt tubes, peanut butter packets, individual drink mix.  Drop off at 1868 Broadway, Placerville between 12-6pm.  Or  donate monetary donations online http://upperroomdininghall.org/ways-to-help.html

  • EDCOE - Full size hygiene supplies.

Boys & Girls Club Virtual Programming

The Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado County Western Slope is offering FREE online activities for all kids. You don't need to be a Club member to participate!

 

LIVE Zoom calls with BGCE Staff!

  • BGCE staff will host LIVE zoom calls and lead members in fun activities!

  • Kids can interact with peers in a safe and monitored online environment!

  • Get FREE online homework help Monday-Friday 11am-12pm!

  • Live activities Monday - Friday between 2-5pm!

  • Kids can participate in fun at-home challenges, projects, and activities!
