Outreach Opportunities
Hands4Hope’s Outreach Opportunities are hands-on activities for youth of all ages that directly address human and community needs, and empower youth to make a positive difference. At these opportunities, youth experience rich learning environments while exploring the power they have to make a difference, gaining an understanding of social issues, taking initiative, developing leadership skills, and interacting meaningfully with populations that they may not encounter during their day-to-day life.
Age & Commitment
Outreach Opportunities offer youth the opportunity to participate as much or as little as they like, according to their own interests and schedule.
Some opportunities, such as MAPS Peer Mentors and Sister Nora’s Place, do require more commitment due to the relationship-building nature of the opportunity.
The age/grade requirements of Outreach Opportunities varies. Most opportunities are for middle and high school age youth. Some opportunities are open to youth of all ages starting in Kindergarten. Typically, those in elementary school, and sometimes middle school, must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/adult.
Youth are required to pay the Hands4Hope annual registration fee to participate in most Outreach opportunities. Scholarships are available. Adult participants must be registered with Hands4Hope, but there is no annual fee for adults.
