In mid-March, the Project Birthday and Kids Oasis Committees joined forces to brainstorm ways in which they could still be involved with the community from a distance while they were unable to host Birthday Parties or the Kids Oasis at Green Valley Community Church. They spent time creating fun projects to share via social media . . . they shared fun recipes, outdoor activities as well as springtime crafts.
These two committees have started working on a new joint project which they hope to roll out in the coming weeks. Committee members are working to create lending libraries for each Youth Center, as well as other locations to be determined in Placerville, El Dorado Hills and Folsom. The goal is to collect books to be placed in these youth designed library boxes where community members can come by and borrow a book or leave a book for someone else to enjoy. Please keep an eye out for more information coming soon.
Ongoing committees still have room, and we are just getting started recruiting for Fall Festival!
