On Friday, August 6th, Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference youth and adult volunteers, along with two School Resource Officers from El Dorado County Sheriff's Department, met at Schnell School in Placerville to distribute backpacks and needed school supplies to students in the community. Some volunteers spent time helping elementary age students pick out backpacks and fill them with the necessary supplies to start the year while others kept supplies stocked for middle and high school students to shop more independently. At the end of the distribution, a representative from Lord’s Gym in Diamond Springs came by and picked up the remaining supplies to be distributed the following day at their location. In total, Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference handed out 437 backpacks and the supplies needed to fill them to 152 local families as well as four agency partners.

Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference is continuing to assess the current need for supplies and will be collecting and distributing supplies on an as needed basis.
