The 11th annual Folsom Community Service Day took place on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Hundreds of volunteers of all ages, including 10 Hands4Hope participants, came together to complete projects throughout Folsom that will benefit all sectors of the community. The effort is organized by the City of Folsom and numerous Folsom businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders.
Knowing that Hands4Hope youth participants already know how to lead and keep events organized and on task, Hands4Hope was asked to provide youth leaders to lead other volunteers at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, where volunteers were retrieving filled food donation bags from the community and driving them to the church, where they were unloaded, sorted and prepared for transport to fill the shelves at Twin Lakes Food Bank.
Hands4Hope Folsom Community Engagement Ambassador Sarah interviewed some of her peers about their experience at the event and put together this video. Watch it to learn more and experience some of the high-energy fun and good work that this crew accomplished!
