We are delighted to shine a spotlight on Randy Mintz, our featured Adult Volunteer. Randy has found a truly unique way to share his time, talents, and passion with Hands4Hope – Youth Making A Difference. For the past three years, he has been a dedicated steering committee volunteer, creating and leading the Nashville Songwriters Live fundraiser at the Harris Center for the Arts, now heading into its third year on February 27, 2026.

In addition to contributing his time, connections, and expertise to make this large-scale event a success, Randy has also been remarkably generous in other ways. He has donated guitars, vacation home stays, and even a sunset pontoon boat ride for Hands4Hope fundraiser auctions. His generous ongoing support and enthusiasm have played a vital role in sustaining Hands4Hope programs and empowering the youth in our community to make a difference.

"Randy's positivity and can-do attitude is infectious," says Jennifer Bassett, Hands4Hope Executive Director and Founder. "When we first started talking about doing a music event on the scale of Nashville Songwriters Live, it overwhelmed me, but his enthusiasm, passion, and experience in the music industry quickly put my and the other adult volunteers at ease. He has the same impact on youth when they practice their sponsorship pitches with him—they leave feeling confident, excited and that anything is possible."

What drew you to give your time and talent to Hands4Hope?

I first got involved after attending one of the fundraisers. Hearing the students speak about their causes and the impact they were making really inspired me. I was so impressed by their passion that I knew I wanted to be part of Hands4Hope.

What is a memorable experience or interaction during your time with Hands4Hope?

One of the most memorable experiences for me has been helping create and lead the Nashville Songwriters Live fundraiser. Combining my love of music with my connections in Nashville allowed us to build an event that not only raises essential funds but also brings people together around a shared cause. Seeing students benefit from those efforts and then go out to serve the community creates this amazing, positive cycle that keeps me motivated to stay involved.

How do you feel that your volunteer work with Hands4Hope has made a difference?

Through Hands4Hope, I’ve had the privilege of supporting young people as they develop into confident leaders in their schools, communities, and future careers. Helping provide the resources they need—through events like Nashville Songwriters Live—means the organization can continue empowering students to give back. It’s rewarding to see how that investment in youth creates a ripple effect of service and leadership throughout the community.

What do you want other adults to know about getting involved with Hands4Hope?

I want other adults to know that getting involved with Hands4Hope is truly inspiring. Supporting young people as they discover their potential and learn to lead is incredibly rewarding. Adults have the chance to share their skills, experience, and encouragement—helping students grow while also learning from their creativity and drive. Hands4Hope is proof that when we invest in youth, we strengthen the entire community.
