Kids Zone powered by Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference Raises $13,290 for Hands4Hope programs!

The Kids Zone powered by Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference is one of our largest youth-led annual fundraising events.

This youth-led committee is organized like an event management company and the result is a large-scale family-friendly fun and interactive area for children of all ages held at the El Dorado Hills Town Center during the annual Fireworks and Freedom Concert Event.

This year the event was held on Saturday, July 2nd, but this youth-led committee started planning for the event back in April.

The Kids Zone committee had nine 7th-12th grade members and two adult mentors who collaborated to select bounce houses and entertainment, organize volunteers, secure sponsorships, complete permit applications, create and implement a marketing plan and manage an event budget and timeline.

My work with Kids Zone has not only taught me important skills but has brought me great delight. Kids Zone has given me a greater grasp on responsibility and this has been crucial in furthering both my skills in time management and communication. Being able to communicate jobs to others and explain how projects were going to the team developed my skills of clear communication.” - Navy Morrison, Kids Zone Youth Marketing Chair

The committee headed into the July 2nd event prepared and excited to try and reach their $11,000 goal to support Hands4Hope programming. This large-scale event needed 45 volunteers to work the 6-hour event, and each youth committee chair came prepared to train their group of volunteers in their designated area: Ticket Sales, Glow Toys, Concessions, and the Tiny Tots and general bounce house areas.

“During my time as a leader on the Kids Zone Committee I was able to develop better time management skills, and learned that always completing tasks before a deadline is extremely important.” - Mishti Shan, Kids Zone Youth Concessions Chair

The 2022 Kids Zone was a huge success with over 700 bounce house wristbands, 200 glow toys, and nearly 800 concession items sold. The committee was thrilled to celebrate their net profit of $13,290, over $2,000 more than their event goal. All proceeds from the Kids Zone will benefit Hands4Hope - Youth Making a Difference’s Education and Community Engagement Programs.

We would like to thank the committee and Simone Caruthers, the Youth Project Manager, and Rachel Spencer, the volunteer Adult Mentor, for their hard work and dedication to the success of this event.

“I was inspired to work alongside youth who are leaders in their community and who are working to make the world a better place. This is an empowering organization that has been a privilege to work with.” - Rachel Spencer, Adult Mentor/Volunteer

Thank you to the community for coming out to enjoy an evening of fun and fireworks in support of Kids Zone powered by Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference.

We look forward to another fun-filled Kids Zone powered by Hands4Hope next year!
