The 2024-25 Hands4Hope Youth Board, a group of youth leaders from across all on-campus Hands4Hope Clubs and Committees, voted to create a Hands4Hope scholarship for alumni to use toward funding college and career/technical education tuition. The Youth Board worked hard on projects throughout the year to provide funding for their scholarship. For example, the Youth Board cleaned up at the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce Brewfest, and hosted carriage rides in the Town Center. They also created and coordinated the special event “Treasures and Treats”, a garage sale offering hidden treasures and delightful baked treats, thoughtfully selected and generously donated by the community.
In all, the Youth Board raised just over $4,000. They then voted to offer four $1,000 scholarships to Hands4Hope graduating seniors, created an application and review process, and then advertised the scholarship to seniors. After the process was completed, four youth were selected to receive the first ever Hands4Hope Youth Board Scholarship: Gabby Dailey, Addison Hunt, Nicole Uribe and Sarah Jeon. Congratulations to these Hands4Hope Alumni!
Thank you so much for selecting me as a recipient for this award! The Hands4Hope Youth Board Scholarship is just one of the many ways that the Hands4Hope organization has benefited me. Hands4Hope has been an incredible support system and community that has allowed me to thrive in high school as well as set me up for success in college and beyond.
This award will go directly towards funding my education at the University of Washington where I will be studying Molecular Biology with the goal of a future in genetic research. I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this community as well as to receive this scholarship award.
Nicole Uribe, Hands4Hope Alumna and Scholarship recipient
