New Hands4Hope Essentials Committee Accepting Applicants Now

Updated: May 31

The Hands4Hope Essentials Committee provides families experiencing food, clothing, and household item insecurity on the western slope of El Dorado County with nourishment and access to essential resources like clothing and toiletries. This new Hands4Hope after-school Committee combines the previous Emergency Food Pantry Committee with the ASPIRE Outfitters Committee, and also pulls in some other similar efforts to work under one coordinated team.

The Essentials Committee has the following responsibilities:

  • Host monthly essential item distributions out of the Hands4Hope Placerville Youth Center.

  • Work with ASPIREKids to run resource closets at middle and high schools in El Dorado County to provide on-campus access to food, toiletries, clothing, and school supplies.

  • Assist ASPIREKids with homecoming and prom pop-up shops, as well as warm clothing distribution.

  • Facilitate collection drives within the community for food, toiletries, clothing and shoes.

Youth in 7th through 12th grade are invited to participate in this year-long committee, which runs June 2024 through May 2025. Participants who are new to Hands4Hope are welcome — no experience is required. Adult mentors are needed as well. Make friends working together on common goals while making a difference for those most in need in our community by helping to meet their essential needs!
